Shree Joydeep Mukherjee is a regular performing artist of All India Radio, Kolkata and an Empanelled artist of ICCR, New Delhi, in instrumental music category.
Shree Joydeep Mukherjee is one of the most promising and talented upcoming artists of Sarod today. He took to playing the Sarod since 1986 from an early age of four years under the tutelage of Pranab Kumar Naha, one of the notable disciples of the legendary Sarod maestro Sangeetacharyya Late Pt. Radhika Mohan Maitra, and continuing his ‘Talim’ under him till date. However, currently he is also receiving training in Tabla for technique of ‘Lay Kari’ and its application from the tabla exponent Pt. Debashish Sarkar.
A B-high graded artist of All India Radio, he has participated and performed at numerous classical music conferences & concerts across the country at Kolkata & West Bengal, New Delhi, Allahbad, Kanpur, Pune, Nasik, Kolhapur, Jamnagar, Varanasi, etc. and has been appreciated by legends like Pt. Srikant Bakre, Dr. Prabha Atre, L. K. Pandit. He has also been a guest demonstrator of music at Symbiosis, Pune, and has been covered in dailies like the Times of India, Pune Mirror, Hindustan Times, Amar Ujala, Dainik Jagran, Jansandesh Times, Rastriya Sahara and Hindustan.
Apart from music, he has also excelled equally well in academics. He maintained a uniformly brilliant academic career throughout; obtaining Bachelors degree in Engineering with 1st class Honours and has been one of the topper in MBA from the prestigious Symbiosis, Pune. Currently, He is working as a senior consultant of research & insights in a multinational consultancy firm and based in Kolkata.
